PHP/MySQL/AJAX Link Tracker
The PHP/MySQL/AJAX Link Tracker (or just Link Tracker for short) is an AJAX-based link clicking tracker. Simply put, it uses AJAX and a PHP/MySQL backend to track which links on a page are clicked by users. Not only does it log the information, it also displays it in a nice format: a label is presented above each link showing the percentage of clicks that link received.
Downloading and Installing Link Tracker
- Download PHP/MySQL/AJAX Link Tracker 2.2 (zip file) Released 27 May 2006.
- Unzip the zip file and read the readme.txt file. It contains the full instructions.
Disclaimer: Using the Link Tracker is entirely at your own risk. It comes with no warranties or guarantees of any sort.
History
The original Link Tracker was written by Glenn Jones. Glenn's tracker used an ASP-based backend. I wrote a new, independent, PHP backend to use on my websites.
In May 2006, a new version of the ASP Link Tracker was released (version 2.2), containing many new features. I released the updated PHP backend two weeks later.
This PHP version can be downloaded from this page and is freely available under the terms of the GPL. The Javascript files are as distributed by Glenn originally.
Download version 1.0 of the Link Tracker. Latest version can be downloaded above.
