The purpose of the Backlink Social Celebrity SEO Tool is to discover who bookmarked a webpage and who linked to that webpage. The bookmarks are searched for in the various social bookmarking services, such as del.icio.us, Raw Sugar, and others. The backlinks are found using Google and Yahoo!. More services will be added in due course. The name should make sense now: The more people who have bookmarked or linked to a webpage, the more of a celebrity this page is!
Searching for backlinks manually is a bit tedious. That's why the Backlink Social Celebrity SEO Tool allows you to automate the process. It can take any one of three sources of web page URLs to discover backlinks for:

For the site: searches, you can copy/paste a full URL and the The Backlink Social Celebrity SEO Tool will figure out the domain name to do a correct site: search.- A manual links list: Simply type/paste in a list of links (one per line) and the Backlink Social Celebrity SEO Tool will find backlinks for them. Note that only the first 20 links you input this way will be checked.
- The top 20 pages of a Google site: search: When you do a site: search in Google, for example, search for "site:ekstreme.com", you get a list of the top pages Google thinks are important in your site. The Backlink Social Celebrity SEO Tool can retrieve this list and find backlinks for the top 20 pages.
- The top 20 pages of a Yahoo! site: search: Just as for Google above, but using the Yahoo! site: search results. Can be slightly different than Google's results.
I added both Google and Yahoo! site: searches because some new sites may not be indexed in one of them or a site might be banned from one of them. This should cover our bases.
The Backlink Social Celebrity SEO Tool is speed throttled! The reason is that if you do too many searches too quickly using the social bookmarking services and the search engines, the tool might get banned. So I threw in some code to slow down the searching a bit. If you do the maximum 20 links, the max wait you should have is around 2 minutes.
The Backlink Social Celebrity SEO Tool uses AJAX. So make sure you turn on Javascript in your browser. The reason for using AJAX is to make the tool faster.
